Jharkhand: Peace Restored in Giridih After Clashes During Holi, Authorities Vow Strict Action

The situation in Giridih district, Jharkhand, has returned to normal after violent clashes erupted between two communities during Holi celebrations on Friday, resulting in vehicles being set on fire. Authorities have assured the public that strict action will be taken against those involved in the violence.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Bimal Kumar confirmed that the situation is now under control and that security forces have been deployed to maintain peace. He stated that the individuals responsible for the clash have been identified, and efforts are underway to locate more perpetrators. “Strict action will be taken against the miscreants involved in the incident,” he assured.

Khorimahua Sub Division SDM Animesh Ranjan also confirmed the restoration of peace, stating that the presence of magistrates and forces helped bring the situation under control quickly.

Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Smita Kumari echoed these sentiments, confirming that police are actively monitoring the area to prevent any further disturbances.

The violence broke out when a Holi procession passed through a street near Ghodthambha Chowk, sparking an altercation between two communities that escalated into chaos for about an hour. No major injuries were reported, but some vehicles were set on fire during the clash. Authorities have assured swift action as investigations continue.
